The BLACKE Summit Weekend is two conferences in one: the BLACKE Student Summit and the BLACKE Parent Summit. BLACKE, (pronounced black) is an acronym that represents the six core values of the BLACKE Summit Weekend. Our six values are:
Building - We will build a sense of pride, responsibility, value, and possibility within members of the community. Leadership - We will assist individuals in discovering their leadership potential. It is our goal to help develop postive, active, and service-oriented leaders that will be influential members of society. Advocacy - We will serve as an advocate to the youth and young adults of our respective community. Through mentoring, support, and encouragement, we help them accomplish their dreams and reach their highest potential. Community - We will dedicate our energy and resources to uplifting and empowering members of the African American community. Knowldge - We will promote awareness, understanding, and knowledge of self and others through education and experience. Education - We will equip our youth and young adults with the proper resources, skills, and knowledge to excel in all areas of life. |
